Who the course is for:     All Year 11 children who are approaching their GCSE/iGCSE exams in 2023.

Course content:

Look at example questions for ‘Modern Prose/Drama’. Focus on selecting the most appropriate question. Look at how to structure a 30-mark answer. Use model annotated answers to see what is required. Plan answer to chosen text.

Anthology– Give example question and look at how to choose which poem to compare to one given in the question. Use annotated versions of the poems to discuss (Power and Conflict) and then focus on how to structure a comparison. Give examples of language to use in comparative writing.

Unseen Poetry: Five steps to analysing unseen poems and how to write a good answer. Look at form and structure, language and imagery, revise poetic devices and how to give an opinion. Look at how to annotate an unseen poem.
