What these terms cover. These are the terms and conditions on which we provide our tuition services.
Why you should read them. Please read these terms carefully before you accept our offer of tuition for your child. These terms tell you who we are and how and on what basis Cicero Education will provide educational services.
1. Definitions
Meanings of some words and phrases we use in these terms and conditions. In these terms and conditions some words and phrases have meanings, and it is helpful to ensure certainty and consistency to have them defined. Such defined terms are set out below and when used in these terms and conditions they shall have the meaning given to them here.
“Cicero” means Cicero Education Limited;
“Parent/Guardian” means each person who has signed the Registration Form;
“Student” means anyone enrolled at Cicero;
“Terms and conditions” means these terms and conditions as may be amended from time to time;
“Tutor” means the person providing the tuition;
We also use headings to introduce separate provisions. These headings are for ease of understanding only.
2. Acceptance and Registration Fee
How you accept our offer of a place. An offer of a place for your child at Cicero is accepted by your submitting the completed Registration Form and paying the Registration Fee of £40.
3. Cicero’s Obligations
3.1 The scope of our duty to exercise reasonable skill and care for your child’s education and welfare. While your child remains a student at Cicero, we will exercise reasonable skill and care in respect of his or her education and welfare. This obligation will apply during tuition hours and at other times when your child is permitted to be on Cicero premises or is participating in activities organised by Cicero. We cannot accept any responsibility for the welfare of your child while off the Cicero premises.
3.2 What happens if your child needs urgent medical attention. If your child requires urgent medical attention while under Cicero’s care, we will, if practicable, try to obtain your prior consent. However, if it is not practicable to contact you, we will make the decision on your behalf if, for example, consent is required for urgent treatment recommended by a doctor or other medical practitioner (including anaesthetic or operation, or blood transfusion (unless you have previously notified us you object to blood transfusions).
4. The Parents/Guardians’ Obligations
4.1 Keeping Cicero up-to-date and informed of matters which affect or may affect your child.
4.2 Ensuring that all details or other information notified or otherwise disclosed to Cicero about you and/or your child are accurate, truthful and not misleading and that relevant details and information (or changes to it) are not withheld.
4.3 You must notify us of your child’s health/medical conditions or Special educational needs. You must inform Cicero of any relevant health or medical condition, special educational need(s), disability, or allergy that your child has or subsequently develops, whether long-term or short-term, including any infections.
4.4 You must notify us of any special arrangements needed for your child. You must inform Cicero of any situations where special arrangements may be needed for your child, including for their education or welfare.
5. Insurance
Cicero is covered by a professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
6. Termination of Tuition by Parent/Guardian
If the Parent/Guardian is dissatisfied with the teaching provided by the assigned Tutor, they should contact Cicero to request an alternative, if available.
7. Termination of Tuition by the Tutor
In the event that the Tutor feels that they are not an appropriate tutor for the Student in terms of experience or competence (or if there are unforeseeable circumstances e.g. illness, personal) after the initial assessment lesson, the Tutor will inform Cicero, who will contact the Parent/Guardian and an alternative will be found, if available.
8. Tuition Fees
8.1 All tuition fees are paid prior to the lesson, as payment secures the booking of the lesson. Bookings can be made for as many lessons as the Parent/Guardian wishes to make, but advance payment will be required for all bookings.
8.2 All Parents/Guardians will be notified of any change to the rate of tuition fee.
8.3 There is an administration fee of £5.00 payable for credit/debit card payments.
9. Private Arrangements
9.1 The Tutor is not permitted to make any private arrangements for tuition with Parents/Guardians introduced by Cicero.
9.2 All arrangements for tuition between the Parent/Guardian and the Tutor must be made through Cicero.
10. Location
All tuition will take place at Fetcham Park, unless virtual lessons have been agreed.
11. Current Teachers
If the Tutor is a schoolteacher, in the interests of confidentiality and good practice, Cicero will not place students with the Tutor if they are currently taught by the Tutor at school.
12. Child Protection
12.1 The Cicero Child Protection Policy is available on request.
12.2 If any Parent/Guardian has a concern regarding child protection, they should contact Cicero immediately.
13. Data Protection
Cicero will process personal data about the Parents/Guardians and the Students in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations and Data Protection Act 2018 and other related legislation.

14. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
14.1 Nothing in these terms and conditions in any way limits or excludes Cicero’s liability for negligence causing death or personal injury or anything which is not permitted by law to be excluded or limited.
14.2 All Parents/Guardians must give Cicero a reasonable opportunity to remedy any matter for which Cicero is potentially liable before incurring any costs remedying the matter themselves.
14.3 Cicero shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by it or its employees in circumstances where:
14.4 To the extent permitted at law, the Student will be liable for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage Cicero suffers arising from the Student’s breach of these terms and conditions or misuse of the Website (subject of course to Cicero’s obligation to mitigate any losses).
15 Cancellations
15.1 Parents/Guardians may cancel and rebook a lesson up to 72 hours’ notice before the scheduled start time of the lesson, but no refunds will be given.
15.2 Tutors may cancel a lesson at any time prior to a lesson taking place. To do so, the Tutor will inform the Parent/Guardian directly. In the event of a Tutor cancelling a lesson, the Parent/Guardian will not be charged, and the full lesson fee will be refunded.

2. Instruction
How you confirm Cicero’s instruction. An offer of assistance from Cicero to give advice for the best schools for your child(ren) is accepted by your submitting the completed Agreement Form and paying the appropriate fee for the requested service.
3. Cicero’s Obligations
3.1 The scope of our duty to exercise reasonable skill and care for your child’s education and welfare. While your child works with Cicero, we will exercise reasonable skill and care in respect of his or her education and welfare. This obligation will apply during any assessment and consultation.
3.2 Cicero gives completely impartial advice on schools and does not receive any benefits from any schools nor does Cicero give any preferential support to any school.
4. The Parents/Guardians’ Obligations
