Having 40 years teaching experience, I am patient, but have lost none of my enthusiasm for working with young people.
I have enjoyed a long and varied teaching career. I am now working part-time at Downsend School in Leatherhead, having reduced my hours from a full time commitment.
In recent years, I have worked with pupils from Year 2 to Year 10, at both Downsend School and Guildford High School for Girls.
In my form teacher role, I have prepared children for SATS and 11+ examinations in both English and Maths, however, my subject specialism is Theology, Philosophy and Religion.
Until recently, I held the position of Head of Department of TPR at Downsend, but wished to reduce my teaching hours, and as such stepped down from this role. Whilst in this position I prepared Year 8 pupils for CE and Scholarship exams. Currently I am mentoring Year 10 pupils preparing for GCSE, and continue to deliver as a subject teacher to Years 7, 8 and 9.
My other interests include running, cycling, hiking and travel. I also enjoy theatre and cinema.
