Tanya Haylett

I have been a teacher for over 20 years. It was all I wanted to do from as young as I can remember (when my teddy bears were my pupils!) I am now working part-time at Downsend School in Leatherhead, having reduced my hours from a full time commitment.

In recent years, I have worked with pupils from Year 2 to Year 11 at Downsend and have been Head of English and Head of Drama before starting a family 6 years ago. 

I have prepared children for SATS, 11+, 13+ and scholarship examinations in English and am now teaching Key Stage 3 and GCSE English at Downsend.

Currently I am mentoring pupils for their HPQ qualifications as well as being a form tutor, taking pastoral care of a Year 11 form group.

My other interests include the theatre and cinema and continuing my quest to find the best afternoon tea in Great Britain!
